Why Be a Christian?

We have never had it so good yet on the one hand with our standard of living that we enjoy in our modern world – but more people are unhappy than ever before. Many suffer stress, unhappiness and depression and they choose ways to make themselves happy such as in material processions, drinking alcohol, smoking, or taking drugs. However, these solutions don’t bring someone to happiness or contentment they lead to unhappiness – so how can you find happiness and purpose?  There is another way and more and more people are seeing that being a Christian, can give them a purpose in life and happiness.

 There are three major ways being a Christian brings happiness to people, it gives a purpose to life itself, and it extends social contact with likeminded people and allows you to go to heaven after death.

First, being a Christian can change the way you look at life.

In the church, you can find many of the answers to problems you have, from listening to the sermons and even talking to god himself about all things good or bad. Talking to God can make your life peaceful, happy uplifting and wonderful. From the church, you can think about your behavior as a Christian and follow the rules of Bible. For instance, you can steer yourself away from temptation and evil and by being good to others, you can help your fellow man and when your are good to others, they are often good to you.

 Being a Christian extends your social life as you meet other like minded people through the church. If you are new or simply want to see what being a Christian is all about go to the church and ask and see what being part of the Christian faith means. You will meet like minded people and become part of a wonderful community.

Finally, you will go to heaven after death. You need to repent to God and follow the Bible because if you do you shall enter the kingdom of god and you can be forgiven for your past sins.

(John 3:5) “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” and (Acts 2:38) “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. “

As Christian you have the privilege of prayer and ask God to help with any problem, and you know He will answer your call. As a Christian your aim is to please God. When you do this, you have will have a more full life on earth with a purpose, and eternal life here after. To become a Christian and live by the teachings of Christ is to live life with a purpose.  Jesus came to earth to redeem us from sin. He sacrificed his own life so that we could live. He has gone to prepare a place for us in Heaven.

 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God”.

In our materialistic world, there are more important things than money, processions or status in gods eyes were all equal and all to be loved, if you reach out he will come to and give you a purpose in life and bring you happiness being a Christian can bring you to heaven after death. If your not a Christian yet, isn’t it time you explored the path to true happiness, salvation and everlasting life?
